Qualifications

Job description

I am currently working with a specialist Lloyd's insurer who is looking for a senior syndicate accountant to join their financial accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate preparation, timely delivery, and presentation of the syndicate-related financial results to the Syndicate Finance Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Ensuring the integrity of the syndicate general ledger, including the delivery of all balance sheet reconciliations and controls.
• Review and approve monthly syndicate balance sheet reconciliations.
• Managing external syndicate audit processes during statutory cycles as required.
• Assist in preparing the monthly report, syndicate executive pack, and quarterly syndicate board packs.
• Support and review the production of all necessary regulatory returns and internal planning.
• Supply data in specified formats to Group Reporting, Risk, and other departments.
• Train junior staff members and enable the team to acquire necessary job knowledge and/or professional qualifications.

Requirements

• Qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA).
• Extensive experience closing syndicate ledger.
• Lloyd's of London reporting experience.
• Knowledge of UK GAAP.
