Our Sustainability team helps client organisations measure, manage, and reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions, and achieve wider sustainability aims. Services include, but are not limited to:

  • Delivery of city/regional carbon reduction programmes;
  • Development of carbon management strategies, including Net Zero strategies;
  • Carbon footprint and greenhouse gas reporting, and ESG disclosures;
  • Identification and assessment of energy saving opportunities and investment case support;
  • Green building certification assurance on real estate capital projects;
  • Estates decarbonisation and heat decarbonisation plans;
  • Net Zero programme management and delivery.

We are seeking individuals with experience and knowledge in building certification, and/or real estate decarbonisation to bolster our resources.

Responsibilities

Senior or Principal Consultant role to lead our growing Life Cycle Assessment team in the UK, focusing on holistic environmental impact of materials. You will work with wider UK and international teams to promote Net Zero Carbon agenda and contribute to business development and industry leadership. You will assimilate our innovative services to promote capabilities in the market. You will design, analyse, report, model and document sustainability projects and present to clients to expand the project portfolio.

  • Managing delivery of life cycle carbon consultancy projects and bids
  • Supporting clients in setting decarbonisation targets and outlining a route to achieve them
  • Supporting senior team members in project delivery
  • Liaison with clients, project partners and key stakeholders
  • Appraisal of building fabric and materials
  • Writing technical and summary reports
  • Analyzing large datasets and producing robust outputs
  • Supporting both junior and senior colleagues
  • Internal quality assurance
  • Recommending key low carbon measures to clients and designers
  • Presenting results to clients
Skills

Whole Life carbon experience essential

  • Good knowledge of the building design and construction process and appraisal of building fabric and materials
  • Experience using OneClick LCA, etool or similar
  • Training and supporting staff in WLCA modelling
  • Experience with Lifecyle Assessment (LCA) studies for BREEAM, GLA, LEED, or other LCA scoping mechanisms
  • Preparing and leading tenders and proposals for new work
  • Supply chain management capability
  • Supporting clients in setting decarbonisation targets and outlining a route to achieving these
  • Developing and delivering whole life carbon reduction strategies for various schemes (e.g., GLA, LETI & RIBA, BREEAM)
  • Direct liaison with clients and designers to recommend low carbon measures
Qualifications
  • Degree level (or equivalent) in engineering, architecture, or the built environment; demonstrable knowledge of building materials and embodied carbon; understanding of environmental impacts, EPDs and environmental science
  • Experience delivering lifecycle or whole life carbon modelling or related services
  • Knowledge of whole life cycle carbon assessments
  • Experience advising on and integrating low carbon and resilient solutions into building design
  • Commercial awareness for business development, marketing, and proposals
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively and take initiative
