Job summary

Top Recruit is seeking a Senior Sustainability Executive in Surrey for a hybrid role within a growing travel business. You will translate sustainability strategy and data into practical action across the company, working with Product, Marketing, Operations and the wider supply chain.

This hands-on role requires solid ESG and carbon accounting know-how and a proactive, ownership-driven approach to improve emissions data and sustainability initiatives across the business.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years' experience in sustainability or ESG
• Understanding of ESG frameworks and reporting
• Experience with carbon accounting (Scope 1 & 2)
• Strong analytical skills with Excel proficiency
• Excellent written communication and stakeholder reporting
• Experience in travel, tourism or hospitality is a plus

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the annual Sustainability Strategy with KPI tracking
• Own and maintain ESG dashboard and ensure data audit readiness
• Calculate and report Scope 1 and 2 emissions; assist Scope 3
• Lead the annual Impact Report production with credible data
• Collaborate with suppliers, airlines, hotels and tour managers on sustainability
• Coordinate internal sustainability team and campaigns
• Identify opportunities to improve sustainability performance

SENIOR SUSTAINABILITY EXECUTIVE

THE OPPORTUNITY:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Sustainability Executive to join a growing and forward‑thinking travel business.

This is an exciting opportunity for a sustainability professional who wants to make a genuine impact within the travel industry. You'll play a key role in turning sustainability strategy and data into practical action across the business, working closely with Product, Marketing, Operations and the wider supply chain.

This is a hands‑on role for someone with a solid understanding of ESG and carbon accounting who is ready to take ownership and make a difference.

THE ROLE

You’ll be responsible for supporting the ongoing development and delivery of the company's sustainability strategy, while owning key reporting, data and sustainability initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the development and delivery of the annual Sustainability Strategy and tracking progress against KPIs
• Owning and maintaining the ESG dashboard, ensuring emissions data is accurate and audit‑ready
• Calculating and reporting Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, with involvement in developing Scope 3 measurement
• Leading the production of the annual Impact Report, ensuring information is accurate, credible and evidence‑based
• Working with suppliers, airlines, hotels, ground operators and Tour Managers to improve sustainability practices and emissions data
• Coordinating the internal sustainability team and supporting company‑wide sustainability campaigns
• Identifying opportunities to improve sustainability performance across the business

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for someone with:

• Around 1–3 years' experience in sustainability, ESG or responsible business
• A good understanding of ESG frameworks and reporting
• Practical experience of carbon accounting, ideally covering Scope 1 and 2
• Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel capability
• Experience working with complex data and producing accurate reports to deadlines
• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to communicate sustainability information clearly to different audiences
• A proactive, self-starting approach with the ability to take ownership
• A genuine passion for sustainability, responsible tourism and making a positive impact
• Experience within travel, tourism or hospitality would be advantageous
