Job description

**Job Title:** Senior Sustainability Consultant

**Contract Type:** Permanent

**Location:** Alderley Edge, Edinburgh, or London

**Working style:** Hybrid 50% home/office based

We are currently seeking a Senior Sustainability Consultant to join the Group Sustainability & Stewardship team on a permanent basis. This position can be based at our Alderley Edge, Edinburgh, or London offices.

As part of the Group Sustainability & Stewardship team (GSS), you will provide consultancy advice, analysis, and insights, supporting and challenging the Group on sustainability and stewardship issues.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team and help other teams incorporate climate change and sustainability considerations into their decision-making and organizational practices.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Analyse, challenge, and oversee the operational emissions process from data collection to calculation and reporting, in accordance with the GHG Protocol and PCAF, acting as SME.
2. Assist in the portfolio emissions process through review and challenge, including knowledge of investment data.
3. Design and implement the carbon offset strategy, securing buy-in from senior stakeholders.
4. Provide consultancy, research, and insights on sustainability topics, including peer research, regulatory guidance, and industry best practices.
5. Support teams across the Group in integrating climate change and sustainability considerations into their decision-making and practices.
6. Work with business teams to identify sustainability improvements, evaluate options, and recommend new strategies, considering risks, costs, and benefits.
7. Support team members in achieving team objectives and review their work as needed.
