About the role

We have a brand-newopportunity for a Senior Sustainability Consultant to join our teambased in our Cardiff office.

It's an exciting timeto be part of our broader Sustainability group which has a presence inevery Hoare Lea office across the country.

We provide a diversesustainability consultancy service promoting sustainable developmentfor a range of projects, across all sectors.

In this key and varied role, you can expectto:

  • Develop holistic sustainabilitystrategies
  • Lead the delivery of environmental assessments(such as BREEAM, WELL, HQM, etc) from early design stages through tocompletion.
  • Undertake a range of modelling and assessment,which may include but not limited to: embodied carbon of materials,circular economy opportunities, building performance simulation,operational energy use, energy generation, overheating.
  • Support development of energy strategies with our clients tolead sustainability innovation on a series of developments.
  • Support the training of graduate members of the team.
  • Work with other members of the team on research anddevelopment initiatives to allow us to stay at the cutting edge ofknowledge in our industry.
  • As well as project-related work,we engage directly with industry undertaking research and developmentstudies, and authoring industry guidance. The role also presents theopportunity for involvement in this aspect of our work to those keento have a direct influence on the industry.

About you

You are likely to have some knowledge andcompetence in a selection of the following fields:

  • BREEAM, HQM, WELL, Fitwel assessments
  • Bespokesustainability charters
  • Production of planning documentsincluding sustainability statements, energy statements, whole lifecarbon reports and circular economy statements.
  • Environmental Impact Assessments

Experience in the following would also be advantageous:

  • Whole life carbon assessments – using OneClick or othermethodologies
  • Net zero carbon strategies and embodied carboncalculations.
  • Circular Economy Statements
  • Energyperformance modelling – ApacheHVAC, Building Regulations Part L,NABERS, Passivhaus

To be successful in thisrole you will need:

  • Experience working withinthe built environment sector.
  • Already working within asustainability or engineering consultancy, you will be looking for anew challenge within a practice at the very forefront of our field.
  • You will bring expertise (with a degree in engineering /science, and experience in the field) and a passion for creatingsustainable solutions.
  • You will relish being part of dynamicteam within a progressive and well-respected firm.
  • You willhave good communication skills and an enthusiasm for working within ateam environment.
  • Like us, you will be serious aboutsustainability.
