Chartered Surveyor

Job description

Following new opportunities to grow our estate management portfolios, we are looking for a qualified chartered surveyor to join our friendly and ambitious rural team based in Cambridge, working alongside a team of property professionals. Our offices handle the full range of rural surveying, including estate management, property agency, valuations, rural grant applications, compensation, landlord and tenant matters, and delivering national framework contracts throughout the East of England.

We offer a highly competitive salary package, which includes a fantastic benefits package with flexible options such as purchasing additional leave, health cash plans, and a cycle-to-work scheme. We welcome applications from those seeking flexible or agile working arrangements, which can be discussed at the application stage.

Main tasks:

  • Providing day-to-day professional advice to a mixed portfolio of estate and land-owning clients.
  • Serving as the first point of contact for existing clients, managing relationships to meet their current and future professional needs, and offering sound, reasoned advice.
  • Managing rural estates and property portfolios, offering strategic advice, drafting agreements, negotiating deals, and handling a wide range of property-related jobs.
  • Collaborating with Partners to identify and develop viable business opportunities to expand the team.
  • Working closely with specialist teams such as planning and development, valuation, energy and infrastructure, agency, and natural capital to generate new fee opportunities from existing and new clients.
  • Assisting in developing and implementing efficient internal systems and processes, optimizing IT and other resources.
  • Ensuring legal, professional, and corporate compliance on all work undertaken.
  • Supporting pitch reporting and presentations.

What will it take to be successful?

You will be a chartered surveyor with a proven track record in delivering excellent rural professional and estate management services, along with experience in building relationships with clients. We seek enthusiasm, integrity, and a proactive attitude; someone capable of managing multiple projects and handling diverse tasks. You should thrive in a fast-paced environment, be adaptable, and contribute to a supportive, collaborative team. Willingness to participate in mentoring and developing team members and a commitment to continuous self-improvement are essential. Ideally, you will also be a registered valuer.
