purovets in Middlesbrough is seeking an experienced Senior Surgical Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join its friendly, nurse-led team. This role focuses on surgical nursing, anaesthesia and advanced veterinary care, with opportunities to develop leadership and management skills.

You will work across a varied caseload, supporting general anaesthesia, orthopaedics and imaging, with a 4-day week, no weekends and generous CPD and benefits.

Are you an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with a passion for surgery and looking for your next step?

A growing, nurse-led veterinary practice in Middlesbrough is looking for a Senior Surgical Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its friendly and collaborative team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an RVN who enjoys surgical nursing, anaesthesia and advanced veterinary care, while also wanting to develop their leadership and management skills.

You'll work closely with the veterinary team across a varied caseload, supporting general anaesthesia, advanced imaging, orthopaedics and other surgical procedures. You'll also have the opportunity to take on a senior role within the practice, with your ideas and input actively encouraged.

The role

As a Senior Surgical RVN, you'll play an important role in supporting the veterinary team and ensuring high standards of patient care.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing high-quality nursing care across a varied caseload
• Supporting vets with surgical procedures and anaesthesia
• Monitoring patients under general anaesthesia and providing appropriate peri-operative care
• Supporting orthopaedic procedures and advanced imaging
• Maintaining excellent clinical standards and patient safety
• Working collaboratively with the wider veterinary team
• Helping to support and develop other members of the nursing team
• Taking an active role in the continued development of the practice

As the practice continues to grow, there is also scope for the successful candidate to develop their leadership and management responsibilities.

About you

We're looking for an experienced RVN who is confident in a surgical environment and keen to progress their career.

Ideally, you'll have:

• 3+ years' experience working as an RVN
• Strong surgical nursing and anaesthesia skills
• Experience supporting a varied surgical caseload
• A good all-round knowledge of veterinary nursing
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• A proactive approach and willingness to contribute ideas
• An interest in leadership, mentoring and career development
• A genuine passion for delivering excellent patient and client care
