Job summary

Assystem is seeking an experienced surface water consultant / hydrologist to join our environmental team, supporting the Sizewell C project. This role embeds you as an integrated member of the project team while remaining part of Assystem’s wider environmental practice.

Qualifications

• Experience managing or reviewing surface water issues on complex infrastructure projects.
• Background in hydrology, surface water management or water resources.
• Experience in environmental consultancy or civil/environmental engineering.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing technical reports and design information relating to surface water management.
• Assessing the suitability of proposed drainage, attenuation and discharge solutions.
• Supporting the management of surface water across both natural and engineered drainage systems.
• Reviewing water quality information and interpreting environmental monitoring results.
• Advising on appropriate approaches to water quality monitoring and discharge where required.
• Supporting the technical review of information used within environmental permits and consents.
• Working closely with environmental, engineering and construction teams to ensure a coordinated approach to water management.
• Responding to emerging issues during construction and helping develop practical, risk-based solutions.
• Providing technical feedback to design and project teams.
• Identifying inconsistencies, technical risks and opportunities for improvement.
