JOB TITLE: Senior Support Worker

LOCATION: Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset, TA8 2EY

SALARY: £14.40 - £15.00* per hour

At The Lighthouse, we support nine people with mental health needs or who may have a dual diagnosis. We work with individuals with varied abilities to help them reach their full potential. Our focus is on developing skills, strengths, and resilience, and enabling self-management and well-being. We understand that everyone is unique, and their needs may vary, but we are committed to encouraging, supporting, and motivating individuals to achieve their optimal independence.

We assist individuals in building their future and increasing personal empowerment by supporting access to training, volunteering, education, and employment opportunities. We also promote community engagement and skill development, including rediscovering previously lost skills.

Many of our Managers and Team Leaders started as Support Workers, progressing through ongoing training and coaching.

As a Senior Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a team of Support Workers
  • Providing high standards of care and support according to care plans
  • Promoting community relationships through activities
  • Reporting, recording, and maintaining accurate records
  • Liaising with health professionals and families
  • Conducting supervisions and audits
  • Ensuring duties are performed to standards and fostering a positive, homely atmosphere
