Job Title: Senior Support Worker (Days)
Location: Stechford, Birmingham B33
Salary: £14.30 per hour
Hours: Full Time

As a Senior Support Worker, flexibility is important for both you and the service. We provide 24/7 support to some people, so you will need to work shifts on a rota basis, including weekends and Bank Holidays.

You will need good IT skills and experience of maintaining records to be successful in this role.

You also need to have or be willing to work towards a Diploma in Health & Social Care Level 3 (or equivalent).

Core Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Develop a culture that is responsive, inclusive, and person-centred.
  • Ensure high standards of care and support for each person in our care.
  • Maintain current, comprehensive documentation that reflects the person's needs and choices.
  • Assist and encourage people to participate in their community, including work, education, leisure, and relationship development.
  • Complete and record risk assessments related to finances and other aspects of people's lives.
  • Promote health, safety, and well-being, respecting personal choices and empowering positive risk-taking.
  • Promote Person Centred Active Support to maximise independence.
  • Foster a culture of collaborative working.
  • Utilise IT systems effectively and support staff in their use.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Be able to drive, as community involvement is important.
  • Work flexibly to meet the needs and wishes of the people supported, including on-call duties and being away from home.
  • Undertake Safeguarding Adults Training and report concerns appropriately.
Must Haves:
  • Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2, with willingness to work towards Level 3.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Experience in record-keeping (electronic and paper).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Email).
  • Experience managing personal/household finances.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to personal and team development.

  • Knowledge of learning disabilities and/or mental health issues.
