Job description

She is a very busy lady with a full social life. She loves horse riding, visiting the beach, singing, and karaoke. She also volunteers at her local homeless charity. As a Senior Support Worker, you will be supporting Craig, her boyfriend, when necessary. Craig always has the biggest smile and enjoys a busy social life, going to the gym, swimming, and watching football. He also enjoys visits to his local pub with his girlfriend.

Cheryl is a very sociable and friendly person. She lives in her own house in Torquay and has an established team supporting her. She is very independent and requires very little support around her home but needs some assistance with budgeting her money. Cheryl and Craig need a senior support worker to join their teams and step up when the team leader is away.

We are looking for people who are fun and interested in the same activities as Cheryl and Craig, but also someone who can introduce them to new experiences. At times, Cheryl needs emotional support to keep her on track as she can easily become overwhelmed, leading to anxiety. Craig can sometimes struggle with his memory due to his brain injury and can be stubborn, but for the most part, he leads a fun and independent life. It's all about having fun and supporting Cheryl and Craig on their journey to increased independence.

Ideally, you will:

  1. Have some experience of working with people with a brain injury
  2. Have excellent communication skills
  3. Be looking to take the next step up in your career
  4. Have the energy to keep up with Craig’s and Cheryl’s social life
  5. Be reliable and flexible
  6. Enjoy this line of work
  7. Be able to lead when needed
  8. Have a get-up-and-go attitude

Craig is a fun-loving, bubbly person who currently lives with his family but is planning to move out soon. He has a brain injury that affects his mobility; he is generally mobile but needs a guiding hand to support him when he is out and about. He is looking for a senior support worker to join his team, someone with experience working with people with brain injuries and mobility issues. He leads a full and independent life, including volunteering at his local homeless charity.

Craig is looking for a senior support worker who enjoys humor and can support him with various activities. His busy social life includes trips away with his girlfriend and her support worker. They have just been to Butlins together and have plans for more holidays. While Craig can struggle with his memory and can be stubborn, he generally leads a fun, independent life. He seeks someone to support him in continuing his journey to independence and fulfilling his dreams and ambitions.
