Job summary

The Wallich seeks a dedicated coordinator for the East DAWS project, delivering drug and alcohol support in Wrexham. This role focuses on empowering service users to manage their substance use and enhance their skills for independent living. Applicants should have a Driving Licence and relevant experience in support services.

Job description

Hours of Work: 30 hours per week, between Monday to Friday, with some flexibility required, 1 weekend in 4 working on a rota - specific days to be discussed on successful appointment

Pro Rata'd Salary:£21,102.81

Project Description

East DAWS project delivers open access drug and alcohol support across Wrexham and Flintshire to those aged 18+ who are drug and/or alcohol users, plus their families and carers via drop-in and outreach support.

- Harm reduction advice

- Drug and alcohol screening and assessment

- Referral to mutual aid groups (Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous)

- Referral to structured treatment programmes

- Support, guidance and signposting to other relevant support

- Phone and computer access to apply for benefits and employment

- Volunteering and community engagement opportunities

Purpose of Role

To coordinate and provide support that enables and empowers service users to address their substance use, build their skills and confidence improving their ability to maintain their current or future accommodation. The support will develop independence to enable people to improve their control, understanding and involvement in dealing with the issues that affect them, and assist service users to achieve their preferred outcomes.

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure.
