Overview

Senior Support Worker - Children’s Homes. A minimum of 12 months Children’s home experience and a level 3 residential child care qualification.

Location: Buxton, Derby

Salary: From £29,230 per annum plus an additional £3k - £6k pa for sleep-ins (4 – 8 sleep ins per month at £62.64 per each).

Hours: Full-time long day shifts plus sleep-ins. Full UK Driving licence is required.

About Keys Group

Keys Group are opening a specialist children’s home and are looking to recruit several experienced and qualified Senior Support Workers for this venture. The home will be an 8-bed facility with an onsite education facility and a curriculum tailored around adventure and outdoor pursuits alongside traditional subjects. We are seeking people who have experience in children’s residential care and are working towards a Level 3 qualification in the children’s residential workforce to lead by example and provide high-quality therapeutic support.

You will have the opportunity to participate in outdoor pursuits and should have drive, passion and resilience. Staff will be supported by an enhanced, specialist clinical team and will receive bespoke training to meet the needs of the young people in the home.

Role responsibilities
  • Promote and support the young people in care to lead a life of positive development within a safe and nurturing environment
  • Ensure day-to-day management is conducted professionally and support the Service Manager in delivering high-quality care
  • Lead a team with other professionals to provide therapeutic care and support for each child
  • Record events and observations, progress reports, and prepare/implement care plans and records
  • Act as a positive role model, developing trusting relationships to support recovery, growth and lasting change
What do you need?
  • Experience or knowledge of child-centred, therapeutic models
  • Excellent communication skills; caring, flexible and resilient
  • A minimum of 12 months’ Children’s home experience and a Level 3 qualification in residential childcare (recognised in hourly pay rate)
  • Ability to work flexibly, including shifts and sleep-ins; full-time and part-time hours available
  • Full UK Driving licence is beneficial
