Job summary

Senior Support Worker – Children’s Home

£29,000 + £41.60 per sleep-in and generous attendance bonus

I am looking for a Senior Support Worker to work in a 3 bedded service providing a home to children and young people with mental health issues and emotional and behavioural disorders. The home is rated as ‘Good’ with Ofsted and is part of a charity helping to transform the lives of young people and adults across the UK.

In this role you will:

  • Supervise Support Workers to ensure that disadvantaged young people are cared for in line with legislative, contractual and inspection framework requirements
  • Be a positive role model to young people – building and creating mutual trust and respect
  • Produce, maintain and distribute house paperwork to ensure relevant information is recorded accurately and is available
  • Create and produce activities to occupy and develop young people
  • Coach, support and develop Support Workers
  • Provide basic advice and skills to young people on managing their finances and other everyday life skills

For this rewarding role you must have:

  • At least 12 months residential care experience with children and young people
  • QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • The ability work on a rota basis (2 days on/4 days off) and undertake sleep-in duties
  • A full UK driving licence
