Job Description:

Senior Support Worker – Children’s Home

Chard, Somerset

£29,000 + £41.60 per sleep-in and generous attendance bonus

I am looking for a Senior Support Worker to work in a new service, opening shortly, that will provide a safe home to children and young people with mental health issues and emotional and behavioural disorders. The home is part of a charity helping to transform the lives of young people and adults across the UK.

In this role you will:

  1. Supervise Support Workers to ensure that disadvantaged young people are cared for in line with legislative, contractual and inspection framework requirements
  2. Be a positive role model to young people – building and creating mutual trust and respect
  3. Produce, maintain and distribute house paperwork to ensure relevant information is recorded accurately and is available
  4. Create and produce activities to occupy and develop young people
  5. Coach, support and develop Support Workers
  6. Provide basic advice and skills to young people on managing their finances and other everyday life skills

For this rewarding role you must have:

  1. At least 12 months residential care experience with children and young people
  2. QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  3. The ability work on a rota basis (2 days on/4 days off) and undertake sleep-in duties
  4. A full UK driving licence
