Salary: £28,891 - £32,512 per year per annum, pro rata

Contract Type: Permanent

Sistema Scotland’s vision is to improve lives and strengthen communities. Working with children and their families, the programme is focused on early intervention and stimulating generational social change, increasing confidence, aspiration, community cohesion, pride, and developing high level skills in the young people involved. We deliver our work through the creation of Big Noise programmes within communities, and currently run six programmes in Torry in Aberdeen, Raploch & Fallin in Stirling, Govanhill in Glasgow, Douglas in Dundee and Wester Hailes in Edinburgh.

We are looking for a Senior Support Worker to join our organisation as part of the dynamic team in Big Noise Torry, delivering a visionary, socially driven children’s orchestra centre. Big Noise Torry runs an after-school programme 4 days a week during term time and a holiday school 4 days a week during the Easter, summer and October holidays.

The Senior Support Worker will act as the key contact for the Big Noise centre Support Worker team, particularly with regards to communication and Support Worker “voice” and will be the key link between the Support Worker team and the rest of the Big Noise Torry team as well as carrying out the duties of a Support Worker at Big Noise Torry. These are: to support Big Noise musicians as they deliver the after-school programme; participating in sessions, modelling engagement and attention for the children whilst building strong relationships with the children and families to assist them in maximising their potential.

This is a permanent post, working as follows:

During school term time, you will work Monday to Wednesday 2.15 to 5.15 pm (9 hours per week) plus an additional 3.5 hours per week to cover the Senior Support Worker part of the role (hours to be agreed with line manager).

During the school holidays, you will work Monday and Tuesday 9.30 am to 2.30 pm (10 hours per week) plus an additional 3.5 hours per week to cover the Senior Support Worker part of the role (hours to be agreed with line manager).
