Job summary

Portman Recruitment Limited is seeking a Senior Residential Support Worker to help create a safe, nurturing home for young people in Wisbech. This hands-on role focuses on building positive relationships, safeguarding, and helping young people develop confidence, independence and life skills.

You'll lead shifts, support daily routines, and work with families, social workers and professionals while following care plans and risk assessments.

Qualifications

• At least 12 months' experience working in a children's home.
• A Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification.
• A full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Leading shifts and helping with the day-to-day running of the home
• Building trusting relationships with young people and providing positive role modelling
• Supporting daily routines, activities, education and independence skills
• Guiding and encouraging colleagues during shifts

Senior Residential Support Worker - Wisbech

Salary: £15.25-£15.85 per hour, plus an estimated £3,000-£8,000 per year from sleep-ins
Hours: 39 hours per week, working long days plus sleep-ins
Location: Wisbech
Driving requirement: Full UK driving licence

We're looking for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to help create a safe, nurturing home for young people in Wisbech. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building positive relationships, bringing energy to everyday activities and helping young people through difficult moments.

As a Senior Support Worker, you'll lead shifts and support your colleagues to provide consistent, child-centred care. You'll help young people develop confidence, independence and life skills, while making sure their views and needs remain at the heart of the support they receive.

What you'll be doing
