Job summary

CareTech is recruiting a Senior Support Worker for a Bearsted service near Maidstone to support adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs. The role is 35 hours per week on a rota basis, with a pay rate of £14.03 per hour, based in Bearsted, Kent.

You will lead a team of Support Workers, ensure high-quality, person-centred care and actively participate in community engagement and documentation. On-call duties may be required.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work towards Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care.
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis.
• Driver's desirable but not essential.
• Committed to maintaining high-quality standards and excellent practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of Support Workers, providing guidance and day-to-day direction.
• Deliver person-centred support and ensure care plans are followed and updated.
• Coordinate activities, appointments and community engagement for the people we support.
• Maintain high-quality records, incident reports and reviews in a professional manner.
• Participate in Senior On-Call rota, addressing staff queries and operational needs.

We are recruiting a Senior Support Worker to join our service in Bearsted, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs.

About the service - Church Lane

Church Lane Service in Bearsted, near Maidstone in Kent has a good public transport. Bearsted is a traditional English village featuring quaint cottages, several village pubs, restaurants and a large village green which plays host to a variety of different social and sporting events.

The Role

You will:

• Lead and supervise a team of Support Workers, providing guidance, role‑modelling, and day‑to‑day direction.
• Deliver and oversee high‑quality, person‑centred support, ensuring support plans are followed, reviewed, and updated.
• Coordinate and participate in meaningful activities, appointments, and community engagement for the people we support.
• Maintain high standards of record‑keeping, completing documentation, incident reports, and reviews professionally.
• Participate in the Senior On‑Call rota, responding to staff queries, incidents, and operational needs as required.
