Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Support Worker to join our team to provide exceptional care to our young people with Emotional & Behaviour Difficulties. This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.

Senior Support Worker Role
  1. To undertake a lead role in ensuring the care and welfare of each child in placement.
  2. Coordinate and attend meetings with schools, social workers, and the local authority.
  3. Help oversee a team of support workers, providing guidance and training in various therapeutic techniques and protocols.
  4. Write reports for LAC, Placement reviews, and Care plans.
  5. To raise any concerns with the Registered Manager as appropriate.
  6. Dealing with challenging behaviour (verbally abusive, possibly threatening behaviour).
  7. Positive role modelling at all times and maintaining a consistent approach.
  8. Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop comprehensive care plans.
  9. Administer and document medication.
  10. Conduct and create risk assessments to safeguard children and young people.
  11. Build rapport with vulnerable children ages 8 to 17 years old and their families on supervised contact.
  12. Positive behaviour support and physical intervention.
  13. Conduct Keywork sessions.
  14. Liaise between social workers, families, and healthcare professionals.
  15. To safeguard and promote the welfare of young people.
The successful candidate:

Needs to be passionate about making a difference in young lives. Will understand trauma and have the resilience to deal with challenging behaviour.

Have good communication and interpersonal skills to provide advice and specialist guidance to our children and families (once trained).

Use their own initiative to resolve problems.

Be a positive role model for the young people.

Ability to work under pressure and prioritise work.

Ability to work as part of a team around the young people.

Will be available to work Monday to Sunday between the hours of 7.30am – 10.30pm.

Can commit to sleep in 7 times per month on average.
