At Cambian Group, you’re not just working - you’re shaping futures. As a Senior Support Worker, based within West Midlands, every moment you spend with our young people (ages 8–18) helps them feel safe, valued, and supported.

A simple "How was your day?", a shared laugh over a board game, or encouragement during a tough moment - these small interactions build trust and shape lives. Some days will be challenging, but every breakthrough, smile, and step forward reminds you why this work truly matters.

What You’ll Do
  • Support young people with their daily routines: getting them ready for school, preparing meals, and planning activities.
  • Create a warm, homely environment by assisting with light housekeeping.
  • Lead shifts and deputise for the home manager.
  • Build strong, meaningful relationships and provide emotional support.
  • Plan and participate in fun activities like trips to the park, movie nights, or creative projects.
  • Keep essential records to ensure the best possible care.
Where You’ll Do It

The home is diverse and inclusive, with staff from all walks of life. We celebrate all cultures. Our team is warm and fun, making the environment safe, comfortable, and homely for the young person.

Our young person is described as funny, clever, curious, polite, and caring. He is knowledgeable about technology, proud of his achievements, and has helped us develop patience, empathy, and curiosity.

We support each other through regular team meetings, good communication, and collaborative planning to provide the best support for him. We also have weekly meetings with the young person and organize group activities.

Who You Are
  • Warm, patient, a great listener, and encouraging — focused on achieving outcomes for others.
  • Holder of a full UK driving licence.
  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare.
  • At least two years of experience in a residential setting.
Why Join Us?
  • Exclusive discounts at major retailers (ASDA, Tesco, M&S, etc.)
  • Health benefits, including dental and optical cashback after two years
  • 24/7 support: Helpline and hardship grants via the CareTech Foundation
  • A welcoming, well-designed home environment
  • Fully funded induction training
  • Opportunities for career growth with funded diplomas (Levels 3-5) and promotion pathways
  • A supportive team that cares as much as you do
