Qualifications

Senior Support Worker

Salary: £13.10 P/H

Permanent: Full Time

Shifts: Various Shifts (Across 7 days)

We’re seeking an individual with senior experience in a similar setting to supervise colleagues, administer medication, lead support planning, manage petty cash and client funds, and act as the point of contact in the absence of site leadership. Good numeracy skills are essential as will need to manage monies. No formal care qualifications required; full training provided, but GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths & English preferred. Candidates should be willing to complete a Level 3 qualification in Team Leadership and Management with Priory.

Your positive attitude and passion for providing high quality care and support will be your key strengths, but you'll also have a friendly, patient and positive approach to work. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.

You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.

Our teams provide care and support for individuals with different conditions at Priory sites all across the UK.

It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However whilst this is valuable, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours in order to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support. Responsibilities

  • Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, and eating
  • Supporting with cooking and preparation of food and drinks
  • Administering of medication (training provided)
  • Perform housekeeping duties to include deep cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, laundry, and changing beds
  • Assistance and support to attend medical appointments, in-house activities, goingout into the community
  • Attendance of daily handovers to members of the team
  • Observe, monitor, and recording physical and emotional well-being, with immediate reporting to the management team on site or via the on-call system
  • Encouragement to participate in social and recreational activities, promoting independence
  • Head a team of Support workers on shift


Location Information

Egerton Road is located in Bexhill-on-Sea, in East Sussex. It offers residential support and Neuro-Rehabilitation for eleven people with an acquired brain injury (ABI) or a progressive neurological condition (PNC). We are just a short walk from the town centre and seafront. Our team are dedicated in supporting our resident to return individuals back into the community, via a programme of slow-stream rehabilitation. Independence, socialisation within the local community and daily routines are all actively encouraged. Egerton Road is geared specifically to cater for adults with an ABI in a supportive, family-like environment set within a residential space.

Disclosure

All roles will be subject to a successful disclosure at an appropriate level from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), Access NI or Disclosure Scotland, and the cost of this will be covered by Priory.
