Job Description

Location: Conway, West Belfast

We have vacancies for dedicated Senior Support Workers to join our team in a Learning Disability unit service in West Belfast. The service supports residents with Learning Disabilities and complex needs within their own self-contained apartments to help them live full and valued lives.

Job type: Full time or Part time, permanent

Hours: Day/Night duty

Salary: Circa £13.50 per hour

About The Role

Key responsibilities:

  1. Work with residents to help them live full and valued lives.
  2. Assist in the safe administration of medication after full training, liaising with Team Leader and Home Manager regarding any issues.
  3. Support the Team Leader to provide high-quality, person-centred care.
  4. Assist residents with daily activities and personal care, promoting independence, respect, and dignity.
  5. Support residents’ physical and emotional wellbeing.
  6. Promote best practices in health & safety, confidentiality, and security, under supervision of Team Leader and Home Manager.
Essential Criteria

Candidates must have at least 2 years of previous Care Assistant experience and a minimum NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care. A clear record regarding professional conduct, performance, and attendance is required.

Ideal Candidate
  • Caring and friendly, creating a homely environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially with people with Learning Disabilities.
  • Experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
