As a Senior Support Engineer you play a pivotal role in maintaining the critical infrastructure and software that powers our services. You will be self-driven and organised with a passion for building elegant and stable solutions. Our UK Cyber & Intelligence business combines modern software development approaches with a rich heritage and experience in the Defence and security sectors. Our customers have complex and sensitive data and information requirements requiring a mission partner who quickly understands the context, delivering and sustaining a portfolio of challenging technology projects at scale and pace, supporting them through an ambitious digital transformation programme.
Responsibilities:
Perform hands-on maintenance to ensure critical systems remain operational
Monitor systems to ensure maximum availability
Support the wider development team in working through critical issues and remediating them
Identify technical risks/opportunities and proactively develop plans to mitigate and realise them
Maintain accurate documentation including a record of issues and faults along with solutions
Implement DevOps and/or SRE best practices as required on relevant systems

We are looking for:
Hands-on experience of supporting and debugging complex live operational systems including monitoring of logs through tools such as Splunk / ELK stack
Ability to proactively manage own tasking and react to higher priority tasks
Experience of Linux server administration
Experience in technologies such as Apache NiFi, MinIO/ AWS S3
Experience managing and patching Java and Python applications
Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker / Podman and deployment technologies such as Kubernetes / OpenShift
Security clearance:
You must already hold the highest level of UK government clearance.
