A leading council is seeking a motivated Senior Support Assistant to provide financial support across various services. The role involves processing financial assessments, managing invoices, and maintaining accurate records. Candidates should have strong literacy and numeracy skills, and prior office experience is preferred. This fixed-term position offers 36 hours per week with a competitive salary starting at £27,106.47 per annum.
We are looking for a motivated individual to join our Business Services Operational Support and Finance Team. You will be responsible for providing effective financial support to a number of Council services.
Responsibilities include processing financial assessments, raising purchase orders, issuing contracts, raising and payment of invoices, and reconciling accounts for care home placements. Also, the administration and record keeping of Free School Meals & Education Maintenance Allowance.
All of this work requires you to work to tight deadlines. You will be maintaining information in software systems, databases, and generating letters and other documents in the course of your duties.
Evidence of competency in literacy and numeracy skills such as a minimum of three standard grades level 3 passes or above, including Mathematics and English, or equivalent.
Knowledge of supervisory skills; Word-processing/spreadsheet/keyboard and clerical skills; SVQ 2 or equivalent is an acceptable alternative for these skills.
Previous office experience demonstrating a working knowledge of relevant procedures, communication, and computer skills.

Successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale, with a minimum salary of £27,106.47 per annum for 36 hours/week over 52 weeks.
