Job Purpose

The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer will work in a team environment with suppliers and EnerSys to develop and implement best practices that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste, and continuous improvements. This role is responsible for ensuring that purchased products meet quality standards to minimize costs and maximize customer satisfaction, while adhering to EnerSys' Quality Management System. The position reports to the Senior Supplier Quality Manager, based at Corporate headquarters.

Note: THIS POSITION WILL BE REQUIRED TO WORK ONSITE AT ONE OF OUR ENERSYS LOCATIONS WHEN NOT TRAVELING. MUST BE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE TO AN ENERSYS OFFICE.

Travel Requirements:

• 60% or more Travel to Suppliers, other EnerSys Sites, and Corporate

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the supplier quality activities for Plastic commodity.
• Lead supplier quality audits to ensure products and processes meet quality standards.
• Lead risk assessment and process capabilities for purchased items. Knowledge of SPC, FMFA, Lean-Six Sigma, and Measurement System Analysis.
• Undertake special projects and lead process improvement activities at suppliers.
• Execute product qualification and validation, develop control plans, and execute PPAPs.
• Lead/participate in supplier and product approval, applying advanced product quality planning.
• Lead/problem solve using techniques like 8D, A3, 5-Why.
• Monitor and analyze supplier performance data to drive quality improvements.
• Stay updated on changes affecting supply and advise accordingly.
• Engage in continuous personal training and development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to achieve organizational goals.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

• Bachelor's degree in Electronic, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• 8+ years in Supplier Quality, with 3-5 years specific to Plastics injection molding.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Training in Six Sigma, SPC, Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
• Certification as an IAFT16949 or VDA Supplier auditor, with experience in supplier audits.
