This is a key leadership role where you'll play a vital part in driving operational excellence, delivering outstanding service, and developing high-performing teams. You'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the operation while creating a positive, engaging environment where colleagues can thrive and perform at their best.

If you're a hands-on leader who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and motivating teams to achieve great results, we'd love to hear from you.

Location: Unit2, InPost, Imperial Park, Siskin Parkway West, Coventry, CV3 4PB

Shift Pattern: MONDAY-FRIDAY

Hours: 08.00am - 16.30pm

Salary: £38,981.72p/a

What You’ll Be Doing
Driving Operational Excellence

You’ll lead the daily operation, ensuring performance, service, and quality standards are consistently achieved.

  • Maintain high operational standards across the warehouse, setting the benchmark for performance and professionalism.
  • Establish clear objectives for each shift and monitor progress to ensure targets are achieved.
  • Lead effective shift handovers, ensuring seamless communication and continuity between teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, accuracy, and space utilisation.
  • Produce daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports, proactively identifying risks and implementing corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular operational audits to ensure compliance, consistency, and continuous improvement.
Managing Stock and Systems

You’ll ensure inventory accuracy and efficient stock movement throughout the operation.

  • Maintain oversight of the Warehouse Management System (WMS), ensuring all stock transactions are accurately recorded and authorised.
  • Ensure stock flows efficiently from goods-in through to dispatch, minimising delays and maintaining service levels.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Investigate stock discrepancies promptly, implementing resolutions or escalating where necessary.
  • Ensure all inbound and outbound documentation is completed accurately and within required timescales.
Leading and Developing Your Team

People are at the heart of our success, and you’ll play a crucial role in developing and supporting them.

  • Deliver engaging shift briefings that clearly communicate priorities, expectations, and performance goals.
  • Provide regular coaching, feedback, and meaningful one-to-one support to team members.
  • Support the onboarding, training, and development of new colleagues, ensuring they become fully competent and confident in their roles.
  • Manage attendance, conduct, and performance matters fairly and consistently in line with company policies.
  • Identify talent within the team and support succession planning and career progression opportunities.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful working environment where colleagues feel valued and motivated.
Building Strong Relationships

You’ll work closely with both internal stakeholders and external customers to deliver exceptional service.

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships across the business and with customer partners.
  • Ensure customer expectations are consistently met while identifying opportunities to exceed service standards.
  • Communicate operational performance proactively, addressing issues before they impact service.
  • Support business projects and contribute to peak trading and seasonal operational requirements.
Championing Health, Safety and Compliance

Safety is a core priority, and you’ll lead by example in creating a safe working environment.

  • Promote and embed a strong health and safety culture throughout the operation.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure any issues are resolved promptly.
  • Ensure all colleagues are trained in safe working practices, PPE requirements, and emergency procedures.
  • Accurately record incidents, near misses, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain environmental controls and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Maintaining Site Standards

You’ll ensure the warehouse remains safe, organised, and audit-ready at all times.

  • Maintain exceptional housekeeping and operational standards across the site.
  • Regularly review warehouse conditions and address issues proactively.
