Job Description:

Senior/Supervising Social Worker – 9 Month Fixed Term

About Us: Foster Care Associates (FCA), part of Polaris Community, is an established fostering agency dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of children and families. Our head office is in Worcestershire, and we operate across the UK, providing a wide range of fostering services.

Duties Will Include:
  1. Supporting foster parents and their families to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.
  2. Monitoring the suitability and competence of foster parents to ensure a safe and nurturing environment.
  3. Providing supervision and support to foster parents in line with FCA standards.
  4. Working collaboratively with all members of the child's network and attending relevant meetings.
  5. Ensuring compliance with all documentation and participating in reviews and assessments.
  6. Promoting participation of children and young people in agency activities and community resources.
  7. Participating in an out-of-hours support rota.
  8. Conducting initial home visits and Form F assessments as needed.
You Must Have:
  1. A Social Work qualification.
  2. Registration with Social Work England or equivalent.
  3. High standard of report writing skills.
  4. Knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures.
  5. Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including occasional overnight stays.
  6. Confidence in transporting children in stressful situations.
  7. Full valid driving license.
