The Wall Street Journal is seeking a senior supervising producer to oversee and produce news coverage as part of its global video team in London.

We are looking for an experienced journalist with a stellar track record of producing timely international news, geopolitical and business analysis videos. World-class editorial judgment, team leadership and video production skills are essential to this position.

While you will help manage a London-based team with the executive producer of international, this is a hands-on role that requires initiative and conscientiousness. Top candidates will possess a 'team-first' approach. They will be passionate about creating distinctive content that serve the core WSJ subscriber, while appealing to a broader audience in ways that stand out in competitive, 24/7 information cycles.

You will be based in London, and will report to the Executive Producer of International. All interested candidates should submit a cover letter clearly outlining how their skills and experience meet or exceed the key candidate requirements, along with links to five videos that represent the type of work described. Applications without cover letters will not be considered.

You will:

Work with the Executive Producer and a team of video journalists to produce daily news and long-form, analytical feature videos

Propose distinctive, original, data-informed ideas on a daily basis, with a clear understanding as to what stories would resonate with the core WSJ audience

Work closely with video journalists to hone story angles, strengthen scripts and deliver high production value results

Provide clear, constructive and productive notes on scripts and videos in edit

Monitor live feeds and decisively produce breaking news events

Collaborate closely with key newsroom editors, global video team leaders and producers

Coach reporters and news editors to appear on camera or in voiceover

Mentor staff and provide innovative opportunities for their development and growth

Ensure that all journalistic, ethical and legal standards are diligently followed

Be willing to work late hours or occasional weekends, as breaking news developments and time zone considerations may warrant

Complete additional duties as assigned

You have:

At least eight years of experience producing distinctive content in a daily video news environment, under tight deadline pressure

Successful track record leading and managing video teams in a global news organization

Exceptional communication skills

Strategic thinking and critical decision-making skills

World class editorial and ethical judgment

Sharp, meticulous editing style, attention to detail and passion for elevating daily news and long-form news feature scripts
