Job summary

SLB is seeking a Senior Modelling and Simulation Engineer in Leeds to develop and apply advanced computational models for product design and optimization. You will leverage FEA tools like Abaqus/ANSYS to support safe, cost-effective subsea engineering solutions across the lifecycle.

Ideal candidates have MSc/PhD in Mechanical/Structural Engineering with 3–5+ years of FEA experience, and proficiency in Python scripting and preprocessing tools.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Mechanical/Structural Engineering with a focus on solid mechanics and FEA.
• 3–5+ years of experience in finite element analysis, preferably offshore/subsea or heavy industry.
• Hands-on experience with Abaqus or ANSYS and scripting in Python.
• Experience with preprocessing tools is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced non-linear finite element analyses to assess structural performance.
• Develop, validate, and maintain high-fidelity simulation models across product lifecycles.
• Support design decisions with simulation-driven insights and optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate results into designs.
• Define testing procedures and correlate models with experimental data.
