Job summary

Raytheon UK in Gloucester (also Manchester) is seeking a Principal Subcontracts Specialist to lead subcontracting activities across cyber, intelligence and space domains, delivering secure, mission critical systems.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Contracts & Subcontracts, you will manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts and NDAs, and ensure performance against milestones while working with cross‑functional teams to protect national security interests.

Qualifications

• Proven experience negotiating commercial and subcontract agreements in Defence or Cyber sectors.
• Degree in business or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong communicator with a proactive, adaptable mindset.
• Financial acumen with the ability to translate programme data into actionable insights.
• Track record of driving performance and solving complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Manage Subcontractors / Suppliers with moderately sized contracts with autonomy and accountability for delivery, ensuring quality and consistency in execution and alignment with business objectives.
• Identify early subcontractor engagement to support new business pursuits and provide risk and opportunity analysis for early capture.
• Participate in development of supplier Statements of Work (SOW).
• Management and negotiation of contracts, non-disclosure agreements and terms and conditions.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders, including suppliers and customers, to align on policies, practices, and procedures.
• Manage all costs, quality, schedule, financial and technical performance requirements that are levied on the subcontractor or the product family and is required to ensure performance and support of the contract milestones of the system.
• Work with suppliers and other stakeholders to achieve collaborative partnering and strategic relationship management to deliver value for the organisation.
• Apply advanced knowledge of subcontracting practices to evaluate challenges faced by the programme(s)/organisation and the supply chains, taking action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities, as well as solving complex problems across multiple work areas.
