Hitachi Rail GTS UK Limited is seeking a Subcontract Manager to lead supplier relationships, negotiate outcomes, and drive improvements across performance and delivery. The role requires regular external engagement with suppliers and clients and can involve travel to sites. It is a hybrid role with two days in the office.

The successful candidate will manage supplier reviews, align internal stakeholders, and foster ethical, proactive collaboration while controlling risks and ensuring governance.

Formación

• Experience managing key or strategic supplier relationships.
• Experience working directly with external suppliers and clients.
• Track record of resolving complex or sensitive issues through negotiation and influence.
• Experience in a procurement, supply chain, operations or project-based environment.
• Working knowledge of contracts and commercial frameworks.

Responsabilidades

• Act as the primary relationship owner for allocated key and strategic suppliers.
• Build and maintain long-term, trust-based relationships with suppliers and clients.
• Develop supplier relationship plans, engagement cadence and improvements.
• Facilitate regular supplier reviews with senior-level engagement and feedback.
• Negotiate with suppliers with focus on collaboration and value creation.
• Influence supplier behaviours and manage issues to avoid escalation.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Interface between suppliers and internal teams (projects, engineering, quality, operations).
• Identify risks and ensure governance and ethical conduct.
