Job description

ROLE PURPOSE: The purpose of this role is to ensure as many students as possible are retained and progress from level to level, a key element of student success at GBS. Your key task will be to work under the direction of the Head of Student Retention, and the Retention Managers, in collaboration with the Student Success Tutors and relevant academic staff, to help re-engage students in their studies.

This role is not for eligible sponsorship!

Main Responsibilities

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work on your allocated learners as an RO.
  • Monitor the 8 ROs assigned onboarding and training, ensuring activities towards retention, achievement, and progression are closely monitored as per KPIs.
  • Be their first point of contact for day-to-day activities.
  • Work closely with the Retention Managers to ensure tasks are monitored within your team.
  • Improve campus attendance.
  • Monitor SST performance regarding attendance, engagement, and WD.
  • Coordinate and ensure SSTs make required calls as per the call log audit, maintaining engagement above 95%.
  • Coordinate absence of annual leave for the assigned SST team members.
  • Ensure SSTs maintain transcripts that are up-to-date within the allocated cohorts.

Weekly Senior RO updates for the assigned RO include:

  • Daily attendance checks and actions to improve attendance below 65%.
  • Identify risk groups and learners below 50% attendance.
  • Follow-up with learners who have missed 3 weeks.
  • Weekly PBI reports.
  • Ensure all activities are completed by the end of week 6, with no pending activities.
  • Counter-check WD before sending to RM.
  • Verify the accuracy of thesis information from weeks 1 to 4, including comments and dates.
Requirements

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Educated to degree level or equivalent, with knowledge of safeguarding legislation and experience working with students in higher education, particularly mature students.

Strong communication skills, adaptable messaging for diverse audiences, and an inclusive approach.

Effective planning and prioritization skills, collaborative team working, and positive relationship building with students.

High computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
