Job summary

Matchtech client in the Midlands is seeking a Senior Structures Engineer on a permanent basis to provide technical expertise in structural assessment activities, CS 451 Reviews and Asset Management of Highway structures assets.

The role can be based from Birmingham or Nottingham and will lead on high/very high priority assessments, CS 451 Reviews and the management of substandard structures to ensure safe, serviceable stock across the Midlands.

Qualifications

• Chartered or Incorporated Civil/Structural Engineer with relevant experience.
• Experience in Highway Structures management, assessments and structural reviews.
• Familiarity with Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) standards, methods of working and Eurocodes.
• Knowledge of Construction Design and Management 2015 (CDM 2015) duties.
• Degree or HND in a relevant discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate structural assessment activities and CS 451 Reviews and resources involved in structural risk identification and risk management to maintain Structures stock in the Midlands in a safe and serviceable condition.
• Undertake high priority/urgent structural assessments in tight timescales to identify/confirm level of structural risks and need for interim measures; obtain approval from the TAA.
• Undertake high priority CS 451 Reviews in tight timescales to identify/confirm need for structural assessments and their priorities including need for interim measures; obtain approval from the TAA.
• Produce CS 470 interim measures documents, obtain approval from the TAA and manage implementation of measures.
• Identify, prepare briefs and support delivery of survey works that support the structures assessments and review works.
• Manage delivery of technical documents produced by the Consultants; review the documents and provide comments to the Consultants.

The Senior Structures Engineer will provide technical expertise in various structural assessment activities, CS 451 Reviews and Asset Management of Highway structures assets. As a Senior Structures Engineer, you will lead on various high/very high priority structures assessments, CS 451 Reviews and management of substandard structures.

About you

• Degree or HND in relevant discipline
• Knowledge of Construction Design Management 2015 and associated duties.
