We are looking for a Senior Structured Underwriter (m/f), based in London.

The Impact You Will Have

At Allianz Commercial, we are dedicated to supporting our clients by working with them to deliver the best possible solutions to the management, control and reduction of risks. Based in London and reporting directly to the Regional Head of Alternative Risk Transfer, Regional Unit London, you will help to implement the global strategy for Alternative Risk Transfer as part of a small, highly entrepreneurial, regional team.

Your core responsibility will be underwriting Alternative Risk Transfer stand-alone and program transactions. As a senior member of the team, you will be expected to show leadership and generate new business while coordinating ad hoc "deal teams" to provide bespoke solutions to Allianz Commercial's corporate client base. Your responsibilities will also include assisting in the development of a broader knowledge of Alternative Risk Transfer products across Allianz Commercial.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

1. Work independently to achieve the team's goals as part of a dynamic underwriting and support team.
2. Be an active contributor to the regional and global ART team.
3. Independently underwrite new Alternative Risk Transfer stand-alone and/or Program Transactions within the ART Underwriting Governance Framework and appetite.
4. Actively source new business from the Broker and Direct markets.
5. Promote ART techniques and methods to help clients and brokers understand the solutions ART offers.
6. Support the Regional ART head and Executive Underwriters in identifying growth opportunities and in planning & budgeting.
7. Train, develop, and coach less experienced staff (including junior underwriters, operations, credit control).
8. Conduct operational oversight of ART Program transactions, ensuring compliance and proper information flow.
9. Understand and follow compliance rules.
10. Ensure accurate policy documentation in reinsurance and insurance forms.
11. Coordinate with ART Deal Legal to develop and support policy wording.

What You'll Bring to the Role

• Preferably, a degree or equivalent in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or Actuarial background.
• Ideally, 5 years' experience working exclusively with ART transactions and products or extensive underwriting knowledge in related lines of business.
• Good knowledge of the ART marketplace and its main actors.
• Thorough understanding of ART underwriting, pricing, and portfolio management.
• Experience in managing complex transactions and legal negotiations with international clients.
• Ability to incorporate AI-driven insights to optimize outcomes.
• Excellent communication skills, entrepreneurial thinking, analytical skills, and motivation skills.
• Fluent English skills.
