Job summary

Insignis Talent is seeking a Senior Structural Technician to join a busy structural engineering team in Bristol. The role focuses on producing detailed structural drawings and 3D models, working closely with engineers on a range of building projects.

You will work across steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry structures, supporting BIM coordination and adhering to project BIM standards while mentoring junior technicians and apprentices.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Structural Technician on building projects.
• Strong understanding of structural detailing and construction techniques.
• Experience with steel and reinforced concrete structures.
• Solid BIM and CDE process knowledge.
• Ability to work independently and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate 2D structural drawings and 3D Revit models.
• Collaborate with engineers across projects.
• Develop reinforced concrete detailing and schedules.
• Support BIM coordination and project BIM standards.
• Liaise with BIM coordinators and wider design team.
• Assist in mentoring junior technicians and apprentices.
• Maintain document control and work with project CDEs.

We’re currently looking for a Senior Structural Technician to join a busy structural engineering team in Bristol.

The role will be focused on producing detailed structural drawings and 3D models, working closely with structural engineers across a range of building projects.

The role:

• Producing accurate 2D structural drawings and 3D Revit models
• Working across steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry structures
• Producing reinforced concrete detailing and schedules
• Working closely with engineers to develop practical and buildable designs
• Supporting BIM coordination and working to project BIM standards
• Liaising with BIM coordinators and the wider design team
• Helping to mentor junior technicians and apprentices
• Working with project CDEs and maintaining good document control

About you:

• Strong experience working as a Structural Technician
• Good understanding of structural detailing and construction techniques
• Experience working with steel and reinforced concrete structures
• Good understanding of BIM and CDE processes
• Able to work independently while also supporting the wider team
• Strong attention to detail and good organisation

Experience with CADS RC and/or Dynamo would be an advantage but isn't essential.
