The Role - Senior Structural Technician

We are recruiting a Senior Structural Technician based in Bristol or Epsom to join our successful teams. You should be able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently, continuously learning and growing with us.

Our offices provide multidisciplinary design and engineering services across various sectors, playing a leading role in challenging projects worldwide.

AtkinsRéalis seeks a candidate with high technical capability in building structures, capable of delivering CAD & REVIT support to designers. Experience should include involvement in diverse market sectors and detailing of materials like steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.

Desired Experience / Capabilities

• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Navisworks is essential; experience with Trimble Tekla and Autodesk Robot is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Experience with common data environments and supporting project delivery.
• Knowledge of digital tools and UK BIM standards.
• Problem-solving skills and understanding of the engineering context of drawings and models.
• Proven BIM delivery from concept through construction.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Knowledge of construction techniques and materials.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with effective time management.
• Experience with automation tools like Dynamo is desirable.

Responsibilities and Requirements

• Produce accurate 2D drawings and 3D models from sketches.
• Deliver structural steelwork, reinforced concrete drawings, RC detailing, and schedules.
• Mentor apprentice technicians.
• Collaborate with engineers to resolve design and detailing challenges.
• Coordinate with BIM team to ensure standards compliance.
• Maintain document control using AtkinsRéalis and client CDE systems.
