Job summary

AECOM in Adelaide, SA, is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with NSQEP experience to deliver seismic design for defence, research and nuclear facilities. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to advance safety-critical projects while developing expertise in regulated environments.

This role is based in Adelaide with relocation packages for qualified candidates. You will engage with stakeholders, perform advanced analyses, prepare calculations and support nuclear safety cases in line

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with NSQEP experience.
• Ideally 6+ years' experience in structural engineering involving complex buildings, seismic structures or safety-critical projects.
• Experience in defence, research, nuclear or other highly regulated environments desirable.
• Developing knowledge of Australian and international design standards is valued.
• Proficiency in structural engineering software (ETABS, SpaceGass, RAPT, FEA) is required.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential.
• Chartered status or equivalent accreditation highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structural and seismic design for complex buildings and safety-critical facilities.
• Undertake advanced structural analysis including seismic assessment and dynamic modelling.
• Prepare technical calculations and design documentation per project requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for integrated engineering solutions.
• Support development of nuclear safety cases, regulatory submissions and justifications.
• Ensure compliance with Australian and international standards for seismic and nuclear design.
• Contribute to technical excellence through reviews, knowledge sharing and improvement initiatives.
