Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Associate Director – Structural Engineer (NSQEP) in Adelaide, Australia. You will lead complex seismic design for defence, research and nuclear facilities, mentor engineers and drive delivery across multidisciplinary teams.

With 15+ years in structural engineering, NSQEP experience, and Chartered Engineer status, you will ensure compliance with codes and lead high-stakes projects while growing AECOM's technical capability and client relationships.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
15+ years of structural engineering experience, incl. seismic structures.
NSQEP experience or in highly regulated nuclear environments.
Chartered Engineer and Registered Professional Engineer status.
Strong knowledge of Australian and international seismic/nuclear/structural standards.
Proficient in advanced structural analysis software: ETABS, SpaceGass, RAPT, FEA.
Proven leadership and project delivery in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Lead structural and seismic design of complex buildings and safety‑critical facilities.
Provide NSQEP oversight ensuring compliance with codes and safety requirements.
Deliver advanced structural/seismic analysis including dynamic assessment and resilience studies.
Manage multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with clients and stakeholders.
Review and assure quality of deliverables across project phases.
Support nuclear safety cases and regulatory submissions.
Mentor engineers and grow technical capability and client relationships.
