Job description

My client, a highly-accomplished, well-respected Multidisciplinary Consultancy is currently searching for a Senior Structural Engineer to join their accomplished team of expert engineers, based in the beautiful, historical City of Nottingham.

Essential Criteria:

- Extensive experience of working in the Structural Engineering consulting sector, across a range of commercial and residential projects

- A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or other relevant discipline

- Demonstrable experience of industry-based project management

- Knowledge of the relevant section agreements, such as S106, S278, etc., and other industry standards

- Experience of managing stakeholders across the public and private sectors

- Possess particular commercial knowledge and awareness

- Good working knowledge of a range of software packages, including AutoCAD, Tekla, etc.

It would also be beneficial for applicants for the role of Senior Structural Engineer to possess the following:

- Chartered Membership of a recognised Professional Body (or proactively working to attain Chartered Status)

- Excellent communication skills, with some experience of stakeholder management

- Good time management skills, with the ability to remain flexible and adaptable across a range of projects

- A willingness to engage with a variety of projects, with a view to proactively developing your career

In the varied role of Senior Structural Engineer, you will join a team of expert design engineers within the industry. You will be encouraged to develop your repertoire of skills through Continuing Professional Development (CPD), and several opportunities to progress. The role will involve several responsibilities, including:

- Overseeing a range of design projects, from inception through to delivery

- Preparation of fee proposals and tenders, drawing upon technical and commercial experience

- Designing structures that adhere to the relevant health and safety standards, building regulations, and project specifications

- Leading your team in the development of detailed plans and models for a variety of functional structural projects, across commercial, industrial, and residential developments

- Creating detailed structural reports and drawings

- Working with architects, contractors, and a range of other stakeholders in the delivery of various projects
