Job summary

Clarke, a leading UK façade specialist, is recruiting a Senior Structural Engineer to lead structural design for curtain walling, glazing, cladding and secondary steelwork across projects in the UK and Ireland.

You will work with Pre-Construction, Design and Project Delivery teams to deliver buildable, compliant engineering solutions from concept through completion, while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to technical excellence.

Qualifications

BSc (Hons) in Structural Engineering or related discipline.
Chartered Engineer or active pathway to Chartered status.
Minimum 5 years' post-graduate structural engineering experience, ideally within façade or building envelope.
Excellent knowledge of general construction methods and regulations.
Experience in façade engineering, structural steelwork or specialist construction.
Experience using finite element analysis software (FEA).

Responsibilities

Lead the structural design of façade, glazing, cladding and secondary steelwork systems.
Produce structural calculations in accordance with Eurocodes, British Standards and Building Regulations.
Undertake wind load assessments per BS EN 1991-1-4.
Design façade support brackets, anchors, fixings and secondary structures.
Review proposals to develop practical, economical engineering solutions.
Coordinate structural designs with architects, contractors and consultants.
Support Building Safety Act compliance and gateway submissions where applicable.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards.
