  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and technicians, including QA reviews and mentoring support
  • Carry out structural appraisals and feasibility studies, presenting innovative, sustainable solutions with a focus on reuse and low embodied carbon
  • Liaise directly with clients, architects, contractors, and stakeholders to develop design strategies and resolve technical issues
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables while ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations and sustainability criteria
  • Attend site visits and project meetings, contributing to progress reports and ensuring practical, buildable solutions
  • Support business development activities including client engagement and identifying new project opportunities

  • Considerable relevant experience in a UK-based consultancy
  • Proven experience in historic and conservation projects
  • Confident in the design of timber, masonry, steel and concrete to British Standards or Eurocodes
  • Experience managing projects and supervising junior team members
  • Strong report writing skills and experience conducting structural surveys across residential and commercial sites
  • Good knowledge of structural analysis and design software
  • Able to write fee proposals and manage project budgets
  • Excellent attention to detail and high standard of accuracy in technical work
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach
