This role would suit an ambitious yet practical individual who enjoys structural surveys and small structural design projects. The role will include problem solving, load assessments, adjustments and alternations, advising on building safety cases, condition reports and traditional buildings structural design works.
This role is an exciting opportunity to carve a niche for yourself within a larger, multi disciplinary design practice working in this specialist division.
You would need to be an experienced structural engineer who enjoys juggling a variety of projects at once, takes autonomy for your own work, and likes the "jigsaw puzzle" approach to engineering.
Excellent communication skills are essential as well as your own car, as much of your time will be spent travelling to various sites.
Hybrid working is very much suited to this role, although some days in the office will be required so you do need to live within commuting distance.
The post would suit an experienced structural designer with excellent oral and written communication skills, who understands how buildings go together and how to give structural advice and recommendations.
