Senior Structural Engineer - Liverpool

We're looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Design team based in Liverpool. The team designs a wide range of building types and site redevelopments across various sectors such as education, retail, blue light, conservation, and commercial for both public and private clients. Location: Liverpool

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, with some flexibility available.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will support the Civil and Structural Engineering team by producing and reviewing structural design calculations, drawings, models, reports, specifications, and schedules.

Your daily tasks include:

• Coordinating engineering design information within the team and with other disciplines such as architecture, landscape, and building services engineering.
• Developing and implementing structural design strategies, monitoring progress against sustainability and low-carbon targets.
• Visiting sites, conducting surveys and inspections, and representing the team at project meetings with clients and other stakeholders.
• Mentoring junior engineers and technicians, supporting professional development.
• Assisting with obtaining necessary approvals and consents from Building Control and statutory authorities.

Candidate Requirements

This role is ideal if you:

• Hold a BSc, MSc, BEng, or MEng in Structural or Civil Engineering, or are a Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent.
• Have experience with structural steelwork and reinforced concrete design according to British/European standards, with knowledge of CDM regulations and UK construction techniques.
• Possess a full driving license for site visits and meetings.
