Job description

Senior Structural Engineer

Location: Leeds (office based)

Salary: £50k-£55k plus benefits

This well established and expanding practice is seeking a senior structural engineer to join their dedicated team of engineers and technicians. Reporting to the Technical Director, you will receive support in your professional development as you demonstrate your technical ability and skills.

The office is conveniently located for transport links and the practice has created a workplace where people want to come into work and look forward to the type of projects they will work on, with a focus on specialist living which includes projects such as care homes, retirement living, integrated communities and extra care facilities.

If you are a self motivated and enthusiastic senior structural engineer whose mindset is one of continuous learning and the desire to share your knowledge and skills, they will want to hear from you.

About you:
  1. Degree in civil or structural engineering
  2. Chartered either MICE or MIStructE, or working towards
  3. Excellent IT and relevant software skills such as Tedds, Tekla and Masterseries
  4. Problem solving skills
  5. Ability to mentor and assist junior team members
Responsibilities:
  1. Visit project sites during construction and attend client meetings
  2. Undertake schematic and concept design of building structures
  3. Analysis and design of building structures including superstructure and foundations
  4. Work with project manager to ensure design changes are implemented and costed
  5. Inspect dilapidated structures and produce remediation solutions
  6. Produce technical reports and correspondence
  7. Maintain client relationships
