Senior Structural Engineer

Senior Structural Engineer - London Borough of Southwark

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for our client, a forward-thinking and independent Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy based in London. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, driven, and capable of managing their own projects as well as overseeing intermediate and graduate engineers.

The role involves managing project budgets, engaging with clients and consultants, and producing technical design information. The candidate must have good knowledge of Steel, Masonry, Timber, and Reinforced Concrete, along with a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing design and progress reports
• Liaising with clients, local authorities, and design team members
• Assisting in the preparation of bids and proposals
• Producing technical design documents such as drawings, calculations, and reports
• Conducting structural surveys and producing findings reports
• Performing site inspections and advising on necessary actions
• Participating in design and site meetings
• Designing structures in concrete, steel, timber, and masonry

Qualifications and Skills:

• HND/HNC in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Proficiency with computer design software (e.g., SCIA, Tekla Building Designer)
• Experience in supervising junior team members
• Experience with new build and refurbishment projects
• Ability to manage client relationships
