Senior Structural Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for our client, a consultancy based in Gateshead. The successful candidate will work on a diverse range of building structures projects across sectors such as Commercial, Residential, Retail, Educational, Manufacturing, and Historical Buildings. The role involves utilizing Building Information Modelling (BIM) software on projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Prepare fee proposals for Director approval
2. Oversee project delivery from inception to completion
3. Design schemes and detailed construction packages
4. Attend client, design, and site meetings; conduct site inspections and reporting
5. Manage and resource engineers and technicians
6. Contribute to bids and tenders
7. Perform structural surveys and advise on issues
8. Ensure compliance with CDM 2015 regulations

Qualifications and Experience

• MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Membership of IStructE and working towards chartership
• Minimum of 8 years' experience in structural design
• Experience with core materials: concrete, steel, masonry, timber
• Strong technical design and drafting skills
• Leadership skills to manage and develop the structural team
