Job description

Title:Senior Structural Engineer
Location:North Dublin
Type:Full-time, permanent, Hybrid/On-site-based
Package:€80,000 DOE

An experienced Senior Structural Engineer is sought to join a busy Asset Management and Design team. The role will involve overseeing structural inspections, managing refurbishment and new construction projects, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the inspection, certification, and lifecycle planning of structural assets and temporary works.
  • Deliver structural designs and manage related construction projects to time and budget.
  • Maintain and develop the asset management database and inspection programmes.
  • Oversee and manage consultants, contractors, and site activities.
  • Support environmental compliance and liaise with relevant stakeholders.
  • Promote and apply health and safety standards in design and project delivery.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, reporting, and development of engineering processes.
  • Provide guidance to junior engineers and support staff development.
  • Represent the organisation at meetings and events when required.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Level 8 or above); Chartered Engineer status desirable.
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in structural design, asset management, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety, environmental compliance, and public procurement processes.
  • Proficient in engineering software (e.g. AutoCAD, structural analysis tools) and asset management systems.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
