Qualifications

  • Perform detailed analyses and designs according to basis, specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Prepare clear and accurate design calculations, analyses, reports, and procedures.
  • Coordinate with all engineering disciplines, construction, safety, procurement, and other groups.

Job Overview:

The role is for a Senior Civil Structural Engineer with strong knowledge of main design techniques and analysis methods, as well as detailed knowledge of standards, codes, and their applications. Good experience in steel and concrete design in EPC projects, with a solid understanding of constructability issues, is required.

Essential Qualifications and Education:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • 10-15 years of experience in oil and gas with major contractors or consultants, primarily in detailed design
  • Preferably a Registered Professional Engineer or a member of a relevant professional engineering society
  • Specialized in certain design codes (EC, ACI/AISC/API, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of engineering standards and specifications
  • Proficiency in engineering software (STAAD, Math3D, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong command of English, both oral and written
  • HSE and cost-consciousness
  • Strong technical knowledge of structural engineering
  • Good organizational and motivational skills
  • Keen on improving work effectiveness
Responsibilities:
  • Perform detailed analyses and designs according to basis, specifications, codes, and standards
  • Apply knowledge to a range of standard and non-standard situations
  • Prepare clear and accurate design calculations, analyses, reports, and procedures
  • Manage time effectively to meet deadlines and budgets, and plan short-term work activities
  • Communicate complex issues clearly to establish understanding
  • Coordinate with all engineering disciplines, construction, safety, procurement, and other groups
  • Understand other engineering departments' functions
  • Initiate interfaces with other disciplines for input
  • Provide engineering support as needed
  • Perform engineering checks and design verifications
  • Prepare Material Take-Offs (MTOs), specifications, subcontract documents, and review vendor data
  • Conduct technical bid evaluations
  • Review designs for operational, constructability, and maintainability requirements
  • Respond to site queries
  • Support MOPEX offices on projects if required
  • Perform independent structural analyses and prepare detailed layouts and reports
