Job summary

CB&I Asset Solutions in Aberdeen, UK, seeks a Senior Structural Designer Contractor for a 9-month assignment to support offshore and onshore energy projects.

You will provide technical expertise for structural design, review drawings, and interface with other disciplines, clients and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety and quality policies and change control processes. Travel offshore/site is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industry preferable.
• Ability to investigate and interpret data.
• Willing to travel offshore/site and perform site surveys.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for the structural design of new infrastructure and modifications.
• Support estimates for project work scopes with technical input.
• Check structural drawings and ensure change control capture.
• Interface with disciplines, clients and third parties on technical issues.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environment and quality policies.
• Produce general arrangement and erection/ installation documents.
• Contribute to design reviews and constructability/Hazids.

CB&I are seeking a Senior Structural Designer Contractor for 9 months based in Aberdeen, UK.

The scope of services will be reviewed should there be a significant change to client support requirements.

Scope of Services:

• Provide technical expertise for the structural design of new infrastructure and modifications to existing infrastructure for the energy sector.
• Provide technical information to support estimates for project work scopes
• Provide technical expertise to the resolution of technical queries ensuring that all design changes are captured by the change control process
• Conduct site surveys on offshore or onshore assets
• Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews / HAZIDS
• provide checking of structural drawings
• Interface with other disciplines, clients and third parties on technical project issues
• Compliance with company engineering procedures, industry, international and client codes and standards
• Ensure that all work complies with the Contract Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures as appropriate
• Structural general arrangement drawings
• Structural destruct drawings
• Installation methodology drawings / documents
• Survey reports
• Weight control reports
• Presentations sketches etc. to assist in scope communications

• Experience within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industry will be preferable but not essential
