Nexos are looking for a Senior Structural Designer on a contract basis for 6-12 months, responsible for the preparation and delivery of structural draughting activities while ensuring technical quality is maintained within budget and schedule.

The successful candidate will work in accordance with regulatory HSE and quality requirements, following Business Management System (BMS) procedures and contributing to the continuous improvement of department working practices, systems, and team efficiency. They will ensure technical quality meets industry standards through thorough originating, checking, and approval processes.

Strong communication skills are essential, as the role involves effective collaboration with clients, engineering and project teams, as well as the wider leadership team and support functions. The Senior Structural Designer will also undertake training and development to maintain and enhance their knowledge and skills while actively participating in performance appraisals and personal development planning.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Producing and checking structural deliverables in line with industry standards.
2. Preparing and verifying material take-offs and bills of materials.
3. Conducting offshore surveys with corresponding survey reports.
4. Providing technical input during the detailed engineering phase of projects.
5. Establishing strong working relationships with designers, discipline leads, department managers, and clients.

Skills & Qualifications:

Essential:

• Previous experience in the Oil & Gas/Petrochemical industry and ONC in engineering (or equivalent) or HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
• Demonstrable competence in the use of AutoCAD 2D & 3D and ReCap software.
• Demonstrable experience in originating and checking relevant engineering design deliverables.
• Good working knowledge of industry codes and standards.

Desirable:

• Mandatory Offshore Certification (BOSIET, MIST, Medical, etc.)
